Search for the TRUTH!

Hello! So sorry I have neglected “THE BLOG” for two weeks now! I have so many different subjects I would like to talk about, it’s hard to just pick one!

Today though, I’m going to challenge you a bit. I’ve been noticing, especially the profession that I’m in, that a lot of times people just take your word for it. And by that I mean, a lot of times we go to a conference, we go to service on Sunday, we have a conversation with people in small group and we believe every single word that these people are telling us. We don’t even look it up in the bible and we base our values and life on the statement that is being told to us. But how are we to know that what they are saying is right?....The only way to find out, is to look it up ourselves. Trust me, I’ve been guilty of this myself, many times.

Not that I’m saying, question everything your pastor is saying. That’s not what I’m saying at all. But too many times I see people just swallowing up EVERYTHING that someone is telling them and yet they have no clue the credibility of that person or what they are saying.

I’m even talking big name pastors. When you hear them say something on TV don’t you just believe everything they say and take their word for it? I mean, think about it. When we get to heaven, is a valid excuse to God going to be, “well Pastor so and so said it was okay,” or “Leslie said it was in the bible?” I don’t think so. God gave us a mind and free will. Just because someone says something or believes a certain way doesn’t mean it’s always right, and especially doesn’t mean that we must believe them. God gave us the bible for a reason. USE IT! READ IT! See all of the exciting promises and hope that God has imparted to us FOR YOURSELF. Don’t rely on anyone else to share the good news with you. Search for the truth.

  1. This is so true. Sometimes we take things as truth just because of the person speaking it. Very insightful.
